While you still need a compatible phone to control the drone (unlike the DJI Phantom 4), this lightweight version is great to bring on your adventures. I bought a refurbished version, and that was the best decision I’ve made. Having a charger and 3 batteries is critical for extended flying. Do yourself a favor and also buy a LARGE SD card to record your videos. Lightweight, easy to assemble, easy to fly. What else can you ask. My only gripes is with the DJI height / area limitation where you can fly it, especially around class B airports…

I have been looking for a drone for several years for recreational use and have been following the highly regarded DJI lineup. Through my research and reading countless reviews/watching videos I decided to purchase the DJI Mini 3 with the fly more package and I couldn’t be happier. Easy setup, it flies like a dream, I do have experience flying RC helicopters, so I did not need the full 360′ collision avoidance in more advanced and $$$ models. Great features and value for the price. The video output has far exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for much more than a toy, this is the one I would start with.

I really like the drone, while flying, it seems pretty stable, and when you slap it in the sports mode, it’s actually pretty fast. The controls are very accurate. The drone is very light and I worry if I have a hard crash it will break I’ve crashed it a few times already had to replace some propellers, but it’s no worse for wear. For a small n light and small it is very powerful. Wish it had infrared camera.
