The 1.5HP sump pump by Vevor, is one serious pump that’s ready to work. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.
I. Quality – The quality feels like it’s made out of some heavy duty, good materials. Combine that with the cast iron and stainless steel and this one should provide a good service life.
II. Usability – It’s as easy to install as any I’ve tried. I went with the 1.5HP and this one is strong. It pumps like a champ and has done a great job at removing any water I’ve thrown its way. The float switch is super handy and has worked without failure.
Overall, this is a workhorse of a pump that has performed tremendously for me so far and left me very happy that it’s in my corner for when the time comes. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.

We live in a city that is constantly plagued with flooding. I don’t know anyone whose basement doesn’t get wet with a least a layering of water every spring. It’s so bad, many of the homes on our street have TWO sump pumps! We only have the one, but this will be our fourth pump in 12 years. That’s because it runs constantly. It goes off 24/7, except in the very dead of winter. I’ve heard it go off twice since beginning this review.
I was lucky enough to have a plumber over replacing some old pipes with new PVC and he was able to install it for me while here. The installation went quick and was over in no time. Our plumber said it went in easily and he felt it was very nice quality pump. From what I’ve noticed is this sump pump feels “stronger” and more powerful than our old one; but is a tad bit louder. Honestly, I don’t hate hearing it go off, because it reminds me to keep tabs on it. But I can’t hear it at night when I am sleeping, so it’s not too loud.
I am happy to report this pump made it through one of the wettest springs we’ve had living here. We did get some water on the basement floor, but nothing like we’ve had in the years past. I don’t know how long pumps are supposed to last, but people here say they should last “a decade”. But based on our own experience, if this one makes it longer than four years in this house, I will consider it an absolutly fantastic pump. Truly.
I often try to come back to update my reviews when expensive products fail. It is currently April of 2023 and it has been a dependable pump for three months now.

What exactly does Vevor NOT make, as far as products that work great in ranch type setting? We’ve been using their products on our land for a long time now. And happy with the quality of everything that they’ve put out so far. Since we live in the Gulf South and deal with excessive rains and flooding, it was a must to keep certain lower-lying structures dry on our land. So I like the convenience of having a sump pump that not only works, but is accurate at detecting a quick increase in water level in an area that shouldn’t be inundated. Good craftsmanship that I would expect of any Vevor product, should last us many years to come.

There is little one can do when there is a terrible storm and your sump pump dies at 2AM in the morning. That’s exactly what happened to me several years ago and my basement flooded. That’s why I got this pump as a spare. this pump boast of moving 6000 GPH, that’s a lot of water. Take into mind that it can pump that much if it’s 0-4 feet at total feet of lift. But even at maximum lift of 33 feet, it is still capable of of pumping 3,400 GPH. (Gallons Per Hour) In my book that is one powerful pump. This pump is strictly designed for sump pump applications, so don’t try to use it as a waterfall pump or a pool pump.
I like the float bracket design as that seem to work best in my basement. As the water raises when it hits the top, it automatically switches on and just begins sucking that water out until the float settles to normal. I always make sure I clean out the pump every couple of month as not to get it clogged with silt or other debris. Looking at the suction area at the bottom of the pump is a much larger grate than I’ve seen in others. Another good idea to allow more water and miniscule debris to flush through.
I feel more secure knowing I have a backup if and when the current pump gives out. And they will eventually. This is a excellent buy and I recommend that if you have a sump pump that IS working, get yourself this Vevor 1.5 HP Submersible pump for a backup. And if you need a sump pump, get this one now. You’ll thank yourself when it happens. And like I said “it will”.
